“We are currently conducting a huge effort to innovate the world of school. I have been impressed by the reaction of teachers, even those who are less knowledgeable about technology and have conducted distance learning activities to keep in touch with their students. Clearly, nothing will be able to substitute the value of a physical school. This situation has allowed everyone to understand the importance of social relationships and relations between peers, but it is important that experimentation is widespread thanks to technology. It is evident that without a medium-to-long-term outlook, without a stimulus to continue adopting new tools and methodologies, it will be easily to fall back into old routines, but it is essential to capitalize on the consequences of this crisis. And this cannot be done alone. The effort to keep in touch with students may be individual, but the commitment to innovating the system must be put into action by the authorities. Innovation is an effort and it is essential to quickly consolidate what has been done.”

In the current situation of health emergency, the world of school has not stopped. Teachers have accepted the challenge and are working strenuously to continue providing lessons. It is fundamental that we learn the lessons of this extraordinary period to kick off a mechanism that will overcome all the barriers that we are identifying, especially for the future.
