Sabrina, a university student, talks about her training experience with GenerAzione AI
Artificial intelligence is profoundly changing skills, languages and professions. For those who are studying today and preparing to build their future, understanding its logic and applications is an increasingly strategic choice. Sabrina Alessi, 22, studies Communication, Technology and Digital Cultures at Sapienza University of Rome and imagines herself in advertising in the future. With her degree due to be awarded next October, she has chosen to participate in the online course GenerAzione IA, as part of the Ital.IA Lab programme created with Microsoft Italy. It's an opportunity to reflect on the impact of artificial intelligence in communication, but also to develop new skills, discuss ideas with experts and gain greater awareness of her career path.
‘Skills in artificial intelligence will be increasingly in demand in my professional field. It's essential for me to learn more about this tool and understand how to make the best use of it,’ says Sabrina.
After participating in Villaggio digitale, another initiative of the Fondazione Mondo Digitale, she decided to enrol in GenerAzione IA. The course, structured in five modules, deals with crucial topics related to artificial intelligence, from technical bases to ethics, up to the analysis of the impact on the world of work. One of the features most appreciated by Sabrina was the accessibility of the contents and the practical approach of the trainers.
‘They managed to make complex concepts clear and stimulating. For example, thanks to the course, I discovered that with Copilot you can generate images: a feature I didn't know about and now find very useful,’ she explains.
Sabrina uses generative AI on a daily basis, mainly as a search engine and for text editing. However, she feels that the potential of these tools goes far beyond this and that in the academic world they are not yet fully recognised.
‘At university, with the exception of a marketing course, AI applied to communication is hardly ever discussed. Some professors even discourage its use out of mistrust or negative opinions,’ she points out.
Despite this, Sabrina found in GenerAzione AI an opportunity to explore new possibilities for use and to strengthen her digital skills. She obtained the maximum score, 30 out of 30, in the final test and rated the training course very positively. She has also started sharing her knowledge with her peers, demonstrating that AI can be a valuable support in study and work, as long as you know its real capabilities.
Sabrina's experience is an example of how young people can consciously prepare for the future, making the most of the opportunities offered by technology. A path of personal and professional growth that will allow her to face the challenges of the world of work with greater confidence.
