Goitom (35) is from Eritrea and has a degree in Mathematics. He is a model student and a protagonist of the Ricominciodatre pilot project for Centro Enea guests.
Goitom arrived in Italy in 2009. He stayed in Lampedusa (Sicily) for 10 days and was then transferred to Trapani for a month. Then, he was moved to Mazara del Vallo.
After five months, he received the documents he needed to move to Rome. He spent a year and a half at the “San Bruno” Reception Centre, where he learned Italian in a three-month language course. A year later, he arrived at the Centro Enea.

He has had all sorts of jobs in Italy: Red Cross volunteer, hotel receptionist and translator. In Eritrea, he also worked as an English teacher.

Goitom attended a 60-hour course for Cisco Certification at Itis E. Fermi in Rome. “The course has allowed me to cultivate my passions, those that I have studied for and I am learning lots. While I study, I also learn Italian and this is excellent.”

Goitom is currently about to end his internship at Unidata spa, a telecommnications and system integration company. Together with another intern, Moussa, Goitom is assembling wireless components.

President Renato Brunetti points out how important social and ethical responsibility is for the company. Finding value in diversity, providing stable employment, collaborating with agencies and foundations are some of the most important company values. The personal side of employees, as well as their technical skills, is a fundamental aspect of this. “They have become friends, not just colleagues. They are extremely productive and never tire. In fact, they are teaching us many things,” explains company tutor Roberto Monaldi. “They adapt easily and have quickly learned to assemble wi-fi and access point components.”
