Keeping Memories Alive

Ferramonti, a town not far from Cosenza, was one of the largest detention zones for Italians. It was open from 1940 to 1943 in Calabria with an average of 1500 prisoners, mostly Jews and stateless individuals. Project “Rome Remembers – Occupation and Deportation, Resistance and Liberation” includes the trip to Ferramonti di Tarsia.

Today, the Rome Città Educativa hosts a workshop with the teachers of the first-degree secondary schools participating in the project that, besides a didactic field trip on May 12-13, will also organize an exhibition with student works at the Complesso del Vittoriano (May 19-23).

Rome Councillor Alessandra Cattoi (School, Infancy, Youth and Equal Opportunities) will welcome the participating teachers at the Rome Città Educativa.
