The authors of Occhio alla spesa point out: “When unemployment is one of the key issues, new jobs are invented. Some of these are very ingenious: home shoppers, dog sitters, etc. Today’s programme will present these new jobs and other professions.”
Amongst the many new occupations, the authors have also included pure volunteer work, including that of the Knowledge Volunteers, young students promoting digital literacy amongst the elderly thanks to the Fondazione Mondo Digitale’s Grandparents on the Internet project.
Can the ageing Italian population and the diffusion of technology create a new role, a real job for digital facilitators? We don’t know, but in the meantime the young and elderly enjoy this extraordinary experience that is completely free!
