The Italian Makers

It was an intense morning. All the teachers coordinating participating schools drafted the didactic programme for The Italian Makers. Alfonso Molina, Scientific Director of the FMD and Professor of Technology Strategy at the University of Edinburgh explained the didactic material provided by the FMD that was then studied and evaluated by the teachers. Ana Lain, School Innovation Manager for the FMD, presented the complete calendar of project activities.

Project activities will begin in January with meetings in schools amongst students and craftsmen. The FMD will help prepare the students for this meeting in which craftsmen will expose a problem and investigate how to improve the situation. Students will work in groups using the tools provided in the didactic material to analyze the problem and identify a solution.

In February, the project will organize a series of meeting on safety and prevention with INAIL Lazio and then, after having reviewed and studied this material with their teachers and the FMD, the students will use a development plan to organize their entrepreneurial idea. Final selections will be made by April and the hands-on experience in workshops will begin by the end of May 2014.

The The Italian Makers is promoted by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale and INAIL Lazio in collaboration with CNA Rome.
