“Grandparents on the Internet in Como” is a digital literacy programme for the elderly run by students. The Project is promoted by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale in collaboration with the Province of Como, the Como Chamber of Commerce and the Como Provincial School Department.

One of the subjects addressed during the course was the National Service Charter. Young students from 15 schools in Como taught elders how and why to use it, along with PC basics and how to use e-mail.

On Tuesday December 18 2012 (11.00 am) an event will be held at the IIS Jean Monnet in Mariano Comense (Como) to celebrate the success of the project with schools, citizens and institutional representatives. (The press release on programme agenda will be on-line shortly.)

How can we overcome spatial and temporal barriers by using safe on-line tools? What does innovation mean? What advantages can it create for enterprises and citizens?

Immacolata Tina from the Como Chamber Commerce Economic Promotion Department, answers these questions in this interview.
