Health Bot: Factor J Educational Contest

Developing and prototyping robotic and AI solutions for the health sector

The “Health Bot” Educational Contest is a new feature of the fourth edition of Factor J, a project promoted with Janssen, the Johnson&Johnson pharmaceutical company, in high schools throughout Italy to raise awareness on the value of scientific progress for health, well-being, and quality of life.

Schools, also in collaboration with universities and research centres, are invited to design and prototype robotic and artificial intelligence solutions for health, which will be presented and shared at RomeCup2024 (March 20-22, “Tor Vergata” University of Rome), an annual event dedicated to robotics and artificial intelligence in synergy with schools, research centres, universities, companies, and institutions.

The challenge is open to individual students and teams and places no limits on the creativity of solutions created with the use of robotic applications, artificial intelligence, IoT or extended reality. Projects may address aides to improve quality of life, personal assistance, health monitoring, medication management, communications with medical staff or family, assisted mobility, etc.

Prototypes can also be created in collaboration with universities, research centres, start-ups, or other accredited institutions, as well as the collaborations are organised independently. The schools participating in the contest must develop an original project. However, new developments and/or additions to existing projects are also permitted.

To accompany schools in the design, production, and presentation of the projects, experts from Janssen and the Fondazione Mondo Digitale will provide both on-line and on-site training activities.

Schools interested in participating must submit their application by December 10.
