Grandparents at the Post Office

From July to October, post offices in six Italian cities (Ascoli, Asti, Mantua, Naples, Palermo and Rome) opened their doors to over-sixty citizens and their high school student tutors to promote digital skills for full citizenship.

The student tutors began by teaching their elder students how to turn a computer on and progressed all the way to using e-mail and social networks. They explored a range of web resources, tools and utilities, including the portal of the Italian postal services, for the over 30 hours of the course.

The report includes images, news, tweets and stories on the pilot edition of Grandparents on the Internet at the Post Office, based on the intergenerational learning model.
