The thirtieth “Grandparents On-line. Everyone’s Young at the Post Office” kicks off today in Potenza with 60 students, after the course was postponed until February on account of the heavy snowfall. Now, the air is gradually softening and the local grandparents are ready to wield a mouse and begin navigating.
Every Monday and Friday, students at the IIS Einstein - De Lorenzo School will meet with the grandparents taking the course. Maria Clara, 66 years old, taught typing and stenography for 25 years and will certainly be agile on the keyboard. Leonardo, who is 68, runs a farm and will be able to reveal the tricks of the trade to the students teaching him how to use a computer. Giulia is 76 and has taught Italian Literature for years, but now she will have to follow the indications of her young tutor as a teacher!
The 23 tutors and 23 grandparents in Potenza are the last to begin the intergenerational course in Italy, a network formed by 576 grandparents, 600 tutors and 95 headmasters, teachers and lab technicians. They are the symbol of a country that knows how to collaborate and grow together, from Palermo to Aosta, because implementing the Digital Agenda means not leaving a single person behind, to create a tighter and inclusive country.
