The "RenAIssance: For a Humanist Artificial Intelligence," event, being held today (Friday, Feb. 28), was organized by the Pontifical Academy for Life. today ends the works of the workshop held over the previous 2 days (February 26-27) on The Good Algorithm. Artificial Intelligence: Ethics, Rights, Health.

 

Speakers include Brad Smith, Microsoft President, John Kelly III, Executive Deputy Director at IBM, the President of the European Parliament, David Sassoli, and the director general of FAO, Qu Dongyu.

 

During the course of the morning, Microsoft and IBM will undersign a 'Call for Ethics' to help companies to evaluate the effects of technology related to artificial intelligence, their risks, regulation and educational opportunities. There will also be a video conference with Pope Francis.

 

The works will be followed by Mirta Michilli, Director General of the Fondazione Mondo Digitale, and Francesca Del Duca, large events coordinator and Project Manager for Ambizione Italia for Schools promoted with Microsoft.

 

At RomeCup 2020 (April 21-24), we will return to reflect on these issues because to date no country has placed sustainable development at the centre of its strategic plan for artificial intelligence. the 14th edition of RomeCup will address the role of AI in a technological ecosystem based on the common good and it will involve young men and women in the international debate on other responsible adoption of AI.
