Entrepreneur Veronica Bergomi’s motivation
“I would like to be, for other women, the motivational figure that I found in my friends and the many people who acted as my reference points – a travel companion to inspire those at the beginning of their journey to work hard and make their dreams come true.” This is the key provided by Veronica Bergomi through her participation in TDLEARN & GIVEBACK: What Type of AI?” course promoted by Terziario Donna Milano. Entrepreneurs will work with the women who are seeking new professional challenges thanks to the Fondazione Mondo Digitale’s reskilling activities.
Veronica’s story includes ups and downs, but always with an eye to the final goal. She lives in Paullo (Province of Milan) and has been working on an entrepreneurial project that she would like to launch in the travel and experiential events sector. “Even before the pandemic, I wanted to work on what is my passion: travelling. I lived in Australia for two years and consolidated my English. Back in Italy, I initially began working in a transports company as an accountant, but I wanted to do something else. So, I began studying the travel and events sector. It was tiring. I worked during the daytime and took night courses. In the end, in order to make my dream come true, I decided to quit my job and collaborate with a tour operator – and it was much less calm.”
Quitting my job to specialize was a decision that came later, after a few months of uncertainty. “Thanks to my good English I found a job in a company specialised in study trips abroad and began collaborating with an events agency,” explains Veronica.
Covid gave me the final push. “I was finally able to perfect my business idea. I found the time and way to exploit it through a plan. The initial idea was to provide people with precious, different experiences, whether events or travelling far away. Opening my Cozy Instants Agency allowed me to unite my passion for travelling with that for mountaineering and pleasant experience that will leave a beautiful memory. In 2022, I decided to leave the agency and open up my own.”
Starting the agency was very hard from a financial point of view. “My family helped out and I was working various jobs. This allowed me to ask for a loan. In Italy, if you are on your own, its not easy to be entrepreneurial.”
At that point, with the help of some friends who were communications experts, we created the brand identity of Cozy Instants, which is a project that is still being developed. “From the initial concept, I decided to begin working on the organisation of smaller experiences and traditional events. I worked for a wide range of clients: ceremonies, business event and retreats, and family vacations … I’m currently working on a pumpkin field at a botanical park in a villa on Lake Como.”
The dream is still in progress. “I’m working on a portfolio of trips with the help of Confcommercio, which will help me with the necessary paperwork. Thanks to this network, I don’t feel alone, even if I take care of all aspects and have very little help. I’m ready to take off thanks to the many contacts I have in the sector.”
It’s a sustainable business. “I like to help organisations that work in recycling and are socially committed. I prefer and recommend hybrid or electric means of transport, catering with vegan or vegetarian menus, the use of recycled materials, and reconditioned electronic devices.”
In deciding to work with Terziario Donna, Veronica asked herself how she could be useful to other women. “Besides providing a message of hope and sharing my experience, I can activate my network and help create connections, which is what helped me out at the beginning of my adventure, besides my great passion and a dream that I wanted to come true.”
