An Extraordinary Future

Carmine Nasti, Professor of Electronics and Automation at IIS Galileo Ferraris in Scampia, has sent us an update on the successes of his students, especially those who have just graduated. Here is what he wrote to Francesca Del Duca, Large Events Manager for the Fondazione Mondo Digitale.

Dear Francesca,

The 2019 State Exam Commissions have finally wrapped up their work. It’s time to review the work accomplished by the Robotics students at ITI G. Ferraris in Scampia, a group that I had the privilege to coordinate and guide.

What can I say? You at the Fondazione Mondo Digitale have had the opportunity to meet them and appreciate the many stimulating activities in which they participate. You have helped them to grow and educated them, truly stepping up their preparation.

The group of seven students, which brought together Computer Science and Automation students, have participated in the last two editions of RomeCup, in the Robotics Contest held with the “Federico II” University of Naples and in the creative jam session, as well as many other activities. Three of these students received a perfect score on their state exams: 100/100. And the other four also received high scores. A great achievement that will open an extraordinary future to these young men.

These are true results. School is a marvellous environment because it puts everyone on the same level and allows them to express their full potential.”

And we agree with the professor! Working schools truly are “marvellous environments.”

And we also like the message that the professor received from a former student, Salvatore:

"A year has already passed since I graduated, but I still feel I need to thank you and will continue to do so. Passionate teachers like yourself are incredibly rare and I feel very lucky to have been one of your students. I would never have achieved such results if it hadn’t been for the Robotics Project at the Ferraris School".
