The invitations for the “Enabling Civil e-Participation in Europe” Conference, which will be held at the European Parliament in in Brussels on December 8 have just been mailed..
European MPs György Schöpflin (PPE, Hungary) and Marju Lauristin (S&D, Estonia) will welcome participants.
The works are divided into two sessions:
- The Role of ICT in Active Citizenship, moderated by Schöpflin
- Digital Literacy, Access and Provision of e-Service, moderated by Lauristin
The objective of the conference is to bring together politicians, EU bureaucrats, e-participation experts and civil activists to discuss democratic participation in the digital era.
The conference will also host the awards ceremony for the "My e-Participation Story" Competition. Italian winner Maristella Berlato will represent a group of students and teachers from the Taranto IIS Pacinotti School [see news Taranto Awaits Answers).
The awards will be presented by Gabriel Rissola, Director of Telecentre Europa.
Barbara Quarta, coordinator of Project E-UROPA in Italy, will be present on behalf of the Fondazione Mondo Digitale.
