"I have always been interested in involving and engaging people and especially in issues related to advocacy and empowerment. My interest in women in enterprise began, when after eight years away, I returned to my town of birth, Avellino. It’s a city in a small province by the same name in Southern Italy that is still profoundly based on a cult of high-quality, regional products and, particularly, wine production. And many think that this is still a man’s job, but it is not so. I encountered many women – the wine women – who manage and improved many small, medium and large wine companies, even exporting wine abroad. And they have done so with the great ability of women to understand the desires of clients – both on-line and off-line – and introducing digital tools. They are the ones who gave me the true idea of what women in enterprise really means.”
These are the motivations that drove Carmine Nigro to become a coach for SheMeansBusiness. For three days – April 14, 15 and 21 – Carmine will help 180 women in Rome to learn about the opportunities provided by social media. The three meetings will be held at "Le artigiane" (Via Torre Argentina 72). Magazine "Inside Marketing" will host live tweeting for the first day.
#SheMeansBusiness, the Facebook Programme that promotes women in enterprise, is implemented in Italy in collaboration with the Fondazione Mondo Digitale.
