PariPasso with Rizzoli Education. A new event for families and educational communities
“I love you,” says a little girl to her soft toy.
“Follow the guidelines,” he replies.
The scene described by the newspaper Avvenire is powerful because it highlights a change already underway: objects are no longer just objects. They speak, listen and learn. They are part of the relationship. But what happens when these devices enter the daily lives of young children?
The recent international report on the use of artificial intelligence in early childhood highlights a key finding: children are interacting with intelligent systems at an increasingly early age, often without adults being fully aware of how these tools work or their implications. Voice assistants, connected toys, educational robots and digital platforms are not merely tools, but relational and cognitive environments that influence language, learning and the construction of meaning. This is not just about technology, but about education, trust and responsibility.
This is precisely where the second webinar in the PariPasso series for parents begins: with the need to understand what happens ‘inside the connected home’, so as to guide children and young people in an informed way. Because, as the PariPasso project framework also emphasises, inclusion and educational effectiveness stem from an alliance: between school, family and community. And today, this partnership also depends on the ability to engage with the domestic digital ecosystem in a critical and responsible manner.

The second webinar for parents focuses on digital life within the family. Voice assistants, smart speakers, educational robots, consoles and smart toys are now part of everyday home life and raise new educational questions. The session offers a journey into the world of connected devices to understand how they work, what data they collect and what implications they have for the safety and privacy of young people.
Speakers:
- Roberto Raspa, lecturer and trainer specialising in educational robotics and teaching innovation
- Edel Beckman, criminologist specialising in digital violence and online risk prevention
The aim is to provide families with tools to understand the domestic digital ecosystem and transform it into an opportunity for dialogue, learning and shared responsibility between parents and children.

Through the PariPasso project, Rizzoli Education and Fondazione Mondo Digitale are strengthening the partnership between schools, families and the wider educational community to build inclusive and informed learning pathways step by step.
To explore these topics further, an article by Fondazione Mondo Digitale, published on the Rizzoli Education website, is also available: When AI enters the home, an article reflecting on how smart technologies are entering the daily lives of families and how to guide children and young people to engage with them mindfully.
Those not interested in receiving a certificate of attendance for the event can follow it without registering on the day and at the time indicated on the publisher’s YouTube channel.
