DL and Special Needs

When schools were shut down during the last school year, more than 3000 teachers experimented with the Google Computer Science First and coding for teaching core subjects thanks to the Fondazione Mondo Digitale. Furthermore, over 1000 support teachers custom-tailored their didactic activities for students with special needs and disabilities.

According to a survey conducted by the University of Bolzano, LUMSA, the University of Trento and the Fondazione Agnelli, one disabled student out of three is excluded from distance learning.

The new edition of Google CS First introduced “Digital Rooms” to encourage the collaborative development of transversal courses for hybrid didactics. Moreover, we brought further attention on the issue of diversity and special needs, to involve the most fragile students in the class.

Tomorrow’s Digital Room (Thursday, Nob. 5) on “diversity and inclusion” will be held by Caterina Coluzzi and Lara Forgione.
