Discovering Talent

Students from around Italy will join to meet enterprises at Microsoft to present their winning entrepreneurial ideas.

The “Discovering Talents Fair” will be the final even for the 2014 edition of Meet No Neet, the project promoted by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale in collaboration with Microsoft as part of the Microsoft YouthSpark Programme. The appointment is for Thursday, February 5 at 10:30 am in Peschiera Borromeo (Milan).

Ten thousand students aged 16-24 are involved in Project Meet No Neet, which provides technological, social and entrepreneurial training so that young men and women may acquire the skills necessary to live and work in the 21st century. The initiative was designed to combat the Neet Phenomenon: young men and women who are “Not engaged in Education, Employment or Training.” In Italy, Neets represent 24% of the 15-29 age bracket.

Carlo Purassanta, CEO Microsoft Italy, will welcome the students to the event, which will begin with an “elevator pitch” (the presentation that an entrepreneur would use to introduce an investor to a project in a quick elevator ride). Five teams of students will have five minutes each to convince the participating companies to help them develop their entrepreneurial ideas.

Participants, include students, teachers and representatives of major companies:
   Carlo Purassanta, CEO, Microsoft Italy
Paola Andreozzi, Manager, CSR Microsoft Italy
Mirta Michilli, Director General, Fondazione Mondo Digitale
Alfonso Molina, Professor of Technology Strategy, University of Edinburgh and Scientific Director, Fondazione Mondo Digitale
