Mirta Michilli’s contribution on "Agenda Digitale."
“At the Fondazione Mondo Digitale, we have successfully been experimenting with skills volunteering for several years. We actively involve citizens in the process of digital transformation through formal and informal courses with schools and local communities. Thanks to the projects we develop with companies (SAP, Microsoft, LinkedIn, ING Italia, Johnson & Johnson, etc.), various professional profiles, including managers, provide their “personal capital” in service actions such as training sessions, role modelling, coaching, and mentoring, even through innovative formats such as hackathons and creathons. In view of our experience, we have tried to define some of the criteria that will allow for the development of a successful skills volunteering experience, one that will accelerate digital transformation processes and provide the right skills.”
In Agenda Digitale, an on-line Italian magazine addressing issues related to digital transformation, Director General Mirta Michilli presents some of the key points of how FMD collaborates with other companies in terms of (digital) skills volunteering. The main factors necessary to produce an efficient experience are:
- Define a shared process of social innovation
- Involve companies fully with economic and human capital investments
- Include phyrtual through local and virtual activities.
