Collaboration launched between Fondazione Mondo Digitale and OMCeO Roma
Training professionals capable of steering innovation, promoting the responsible use of artificial intelligence and supporting the digital transformation of the healthcare system. These are the objectives of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between Fondazione Mondo Digitale and the Provincial Order of Physicians, Surgeons and Dentists of Rome (OMCeO Roma).
An alliance to support change
Artificial intelligence is becoming an increasingly integral part of healthcare settings, transforming processes, decision-making methods and the relationship with patients. For this evolution to deliver value for professionals and citizens alike, technological innovation must be accompanied by new skills, critical thinking and a strong focus on ethical considerations. This shared vision has given rise to the collaboration between Fondazione Mondo Digitale and OMCeO Roma. The agreement brings together complementary expertise: the Foundation’s experience in training and social innovation, and the Association’s role in promoting professional standards and medical ethics. The aim is to contribute to the spread of a culture of innovation capable of integrating technology, human skills and professional responsibility, supporting doctors and healthcare professionals in understanding the opportunities and limitations of artificial intelligence applied to healthcare.
The first training event
The collaboration kicks off with the training event ‘The future assisted by artificial intelligence: data and diagnosis’, scheduled for 24 June at 9am at the OMCeO Rome headquarters at Via Giovanni Battista De Rossi 9.
The day will begin with opening remarks by Antonio Magi, president of OMCeO Rome, and Mirta Michilli, director general of the Fondazione Mondo Digitale.
Following this, experts, researchers and professionals will discuss the role of artificial intelligence in healthcare processes, the ethical and organisational implications of new technologies, and the skills required to use them effectively and responsibly. Among the key speakers for the day are Maria Grazia Tarsitano and Nicola Illuzzi, councillors of the Rome Medical Association, who will contribute to the discussions on digital innovation and the application of artificial intelligence in the healthcare sector.
The morning will continue with a training session organised by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale, featuring presentations by researchers and trainers Christian Tamantini and Mohamed Fadiga.
