Digital Classrooms

It’s nearly time for the Didattiche.2018 International Conference that will be held at the Palacongressi in Rimini on October 12-13. The eventi s promoted by Publishing House Erickson "to reflect on the multiple meanings of innovation and promote efficient didactics to develop students’ competences, promoting debate, participation and inclusion.”

The rich programme, which will also involve the Fondazione Mondo Digitale, includes digital classes, “small work groups that will address the issues of digital tools and new technology.” Each participant will have the opportunity to enrich his competences by enrolling in 1 digital class. In order to allow as many participants as possible to participate in the lessons, the digital classes will be repeated 7 times between Friday and Saturday.

To participate in the four digital classes organised by coaches from the Fondazione Mondo Digitale, please check if there are any available places on the dedicated page of the “Didattiche.2018” Programme.

  CREATIVITY AND CODING UNPLUGGED

Primary School

An activity inspired by Pixel Art that brings together creative freedom and the rigour of coding.

Participants will be divided into groups and provided with a model and coloured cardboard squares. They will be asked to make simple drawings on the squares. Then, they will be provided with a code to follow to create an algorithm to reproduce their drawing. The groups will exchange algorithms and reproduce the various works using post-its.

Coach: Cristiana Zambon

ROLL THE DICE AND START PLAYING

First and Second-degree Secondary School

The class begins with a simple object that everyone has known for centuries: a die. This will allow us to recall knowledge that everyone has and use it in an entirely new dimension with technological tools.

The die, which is apparently simple, can be used to address important mathematical concepts such as causality and randomness. Moreover, the object recalls a gaming dimension that students love. Students will work with AppInventor to create an app that simulates die rolling.

MAKING – LEARNING IN STOP MOTION

Primary School

The stop motion technique can be used to create miniature didactic kits on historical events, epic poems and scientific progress.

Students learn through a physical-mental approach including gestures and the repetition of actions that characterise events and processes. This process promotes the understanding and learning of both simple and more complex concepts.

MAKING – SCHOOL OF PHYSICS WITH ARDUINO

First and Second-degree Secondary School

Physics 4.0 is an activity that employs smartphones and Arduino chipsets to conduct simple physics experiments with an elevated educational content at a very low cost.

These tools allow students to make accurate measurement of physical characteristics by measuring tension, luminous intensity, acceleration, magnetic fields, sound waves, etc., even over a given period of time.

The experiments are very exciting and allow students to rapidly address coding and IoT (Internet of Things), amongst other concepts.
