"Dig4All Cured a Part of Me"

"Dig4All Cured a Part of Me"

The story of S. who attended the course on social media marketing.

Thanks to an operator from a cooperative in Bologna, a 26-year-old young woman, although in one of the most difficult periods of her life, decided to enrol in the Social Media Marketer course, one of Digi4All’s training proposals and successfully completed the second level of the programme. S. was so grateful for this unexpected opportunity that she wanted to leave a trace of it and sent a thank you email to the lead partner, Fondazione L'Albero della Vita. Here is S.'s message. We hope she will inspire other young people who find themselves in particularly fragile conditions. This is the original text of the email, with some small changes just to make some passages clearer and more readable.

Hi!
I would have liked not to just say "hello"... when you write a bit about your life in a few lines, the moment comes when you want to organize your thoughts in order to touch the deeper issues, the ones that make you think about the future without forgetting the present.

It all began in a hot summer when I learned of my illness. We immediately sought help and moved to another place in the world where treatments are light years ahead and humanity still exists... Unfortunately, where I come from healthcare is not that of dreams and illnesses lock you in hospital for life.

Mine is a painful, long, difficult journey, but also a happy one.

After a long time in the hospital between treatments, Covid, surgery and after having struggled with evil almost all my life and continuing to do so ... now, it's a face to face with myself. Because sometimes fighting and winning makes you feel great, and even if you lose some battles, you remain great!

I have been able to travel down this path with a lot of positivity and energy, thus making decisions that were not always easy ... I am in Bologna where in bad luck I found good luck, because I was born in Albania, but I was reborn in Italy!

After tumours, autoimmune diseases, drugs that made me feel like a laboratory rat, I received a call from my work operator (Noah's Ark Project). I responded immediately and valued her request to participate in this course. I said yes, and from there the beautiful part of my life began. You say, a course? Well yes! A course!

I got up every day with one more reason, without having another day in the hospital as my only prospect. And I still didn't know that that course would open up opportunities for me to meet new people, interact with them, and become part of a social community.

I said to myself: from today I will be fine, and I will find a way to finish this journey and take all the exams! And so, it was.

I am here today to say thank you! No one knows but in the journey of life even a small thing may leave its mark, and even a small opportunity helps one feel present, accepted, and appreciated!

It helped me view myself better, always have desires, and feel good, healing a part of me!

Thank you!
