Rising Youth: learning what can be done with innovative technology

Intelligence systems allow organizations to rely on solid and efficient business processes, with the added freedom of adapting and optimising them to their needs. Intelligent systems allow processes to learn by themselves and optimize results.

During the first meeting of Rising Youth, which took place last Friday, October 6, at the Liceo Schiaparelli-Gramsci in Milan, for Milano Digital Week, SAP Italia experts explained the advantages that new technologies bring to a company to make it increasingly intelligent and sustainable, with a particular focus on artificial intelligence. The event also served to launch the theme of the hackathon for RomeCup2024, with an explanation of the project the students will have to develop over the coming months.

The event addressed a wide range of topics and technologies: Business Platform Technology, Chatbot, IoT, Robotic Process Automation, Advanced Analytics, and Data Management.

"The event provided an interesting opportunity for discussion between a large company, like SAP, and young teenagers who are entering the working world for the first time and are starting to discover the role of artificial intelligence and new technologies, not only in their daily lives, but also from a corporate perspective," explains Claudia Belella, who coordinates the project. “It was inspiring and fun to see the students interact and encourage each other to stand up in front of the company and express their ideas or answer the speakers' questions, overcoming their insecurities.”

Over 160 students from the Liceo Schiaparelli-Gramsci in Milan participated in the event (held both in the auditorium and in connection from their classrooms), thanks to the precious contribution of Director Francesca Giuranna  and Professor Sabina Daverio.

Approximately 800 students from 45 classes in secondary schools throughout Italy live-streamed the event:

  • Liceo Montessori - Rome
  • Liceo Grassi - Latina
  • IIS ITG and ITI - Vibo Valentia
  • Liceo Classico Statale G.M. Dettori - Cagliari
  • ITIS G. Vallauri - Genzano (Rome)
  • Convitto Nazionale - Cagliari
  • Don Milani Montichiari - Brescia
  • ITCG A. Oriani - Ravenna
  • Galileo-Palo - Salerno
  • IIS Fondi - Latina

Speakers:

  • Elisa Amorelli, Communications, Institutional Relations, and Social Marketing Coordinator, Fondazione Mondo Digitale
  • Raffaella Mollame, Communications Manager, SAP Italia
  • Salvatore De Caro, SAP Signavio, Presales Director EMEA South, SAP
  • Giovanni Conte, SAP Presales Specialist, Platform & Technologies, SAP Italia
  • Davide Bramati, SAP Presales Specialist, Platform & Technologies, SAP Italia

"Over the next few months, students will learn while having fun. They will learn to work as a team towards a common goal. They will experiment. And they will try to design prototypes and the most innovative ideas as a challenge for the final project hackathon, which will be held during RomeCup 2024," added Claudia.
