Nearly 500,000 students are already seated in classrooms around the country to take the final year exams for the second cycle, the maturità, which begins today – Wednesday, June 17 – with a written essay.
There are 12,005 commissions that will be examining 24,189 classes and 489,962 registered candidates (472,000 internal and 17, 962 external).
According to an initial survey by the Italian Ministry of University, Education and Research (MIUR), 96.6% of students was admitted to the final examination.
The MIUR will be recounting this year’s maturità with the #quasimaturi hashtag that was launched last year to open a channel with students and gather their emotions and experiences.
