ICT technology at the service of individuals with visual disability: from artificial intelligence to the European Accessibility Act” is the focus of the national conference promoted by the Italian Visually Disabled Association. The event will be held on Saturday, Oct. 26 at the Rome Best Western Blu Hotel, near the Tiburtina Railway station.

The Fondazione Mondo Digitale ETS will address Artificial Intelligence for Inclusive Didactics. Project Officer Marta Pietrelli will present some of FMD’s actions, including Project Pathway Companion, a platform with intelligent tutoring for individuals with special needs.

The Visually Disabled Association, founded in 1970, is a moral organisation operating under private law and active nationally in socially and culturally promoting visually impaired individuals. The non-profit and volunteer association works to promote inclusion, independence, and full participation in social life for the visually impaired. It is a member of the Italian Federation for Overcoming Handicap (FISH), which brings together over 30 prominent Italian associations addressing many forms of disability. Moreover, it is a founding member of the Italian Disability Forum (FID), participating in its Directive Council, and is connected to the European Disability Forum, sharing its experience internationally. More recently, the association has extended its activities in various technological sectors, exploiting innovation to increase independence and the social integration of the visually impaired.
