Tomorrow in Rome (10 am) the Council of Ministers will host the National Conference of the Age Platform Italia entitled “Towards a Welcoming and Friendlier Europe to Elders”
The works will begin at 10 am with a welcome by Elio D’Orazio, Coordinator of the Age Platform Italia and the President of the Age Platform Europe, Marjan Sedmak.
A Round Table will be held at 3:45 pm featuring the participation of Cecilia Stajano, Coordinator of the Innovation Area for Schools and Project Grandparents on the Internet, promoted by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale. Thanks to the inter-generational learning model, over 19,000 elders took free digital literacy courses thanks to the help of 15,500 student tutors and over 1000 experts. The FMD has exported this model to 8 European countries.
Also present at the meeting: Rita Visini, Regione Lazio Social Policy Councillor; Edoardo Patriarca, Labour and Social Affairs Parliamentary Commission; Rita Cutini, Rome Social Policy Councillor; Maria Cecilia Guerra, Deputy Minister for Labour and Social Policy and Gianni Pittella, First Deputy President of the European Parliament.
The day’s works will end at 6:30 pm with the presentation of the European Project for the Age Platform Europe: “Active Senior Citizens for Europe”.
