Siderno Focuses on Elders

Open event tomorrow and presentation of "Be Internet Awesome"

On Thursday, December 15, we will be in Siderno, a small town with about 15,000 residents, in the Metropolitan City of Reggio Calabria.

Tomorrow, the Town Council Hall will hold a public meeting to officially kick off post-pandemic activities at the Social Aggregation Centre for Elders and Retirees. The appointment is at 17.30.

The meeting, organized by the town council, is an “important opportunity to relaunch the long-standing aggregation that for many years has represented a social, cultural and recreational reference point in the town,” especially for the over-60s who represented 26% of the population. Moreover, it is an important opportunity to present project Vivi Internet, al meglio, promoted by Google and developed by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale in collaboration with the Italian Postal PoliceAltroconsumo, and  Anteas. The project will provide free courses for over-60s on how to surf the web safely.

Speakers

  • Mariateresa Fragomeni, Mayor, Siderno
  • Salvatore Pellegrino, Social Policy Councillor
  • Cosimo Piscioneri, President, Social Aggregation Centre for Elders and Retirees
  • Roberta Coluccio, Coach, Fondazione Mondo Digitale
