In collaboration with the Foundation for Birth and in synergy with the Fondazione Roma, Istat and Sigo

The project stems from the collaboration with the Foundation for Birth, in synergy with the Fondazione Roma, Istat and the Society of Gynaecology and Obstetrics (Sigo), with the aim of making young people aware of the challenges our country is facing and stimulating in them the desire to create a future.

CONTEXT

The birth rate is the primary indicator of a population's hope. Without children and young people, a country loses its desire for the future. Yet in Italy, having a child is the second leading cause of poverty.

OBJECTIVES

  • To encourage the empowerment of young people, making them the protagonists of concrete actions to face social and demographic challenges
  • Create awareness of possible scenarios, with data and policy proposals
  • Develop communication skills for a social media campaign
  • Transform the narrative on birth rates starting from more effective and accessible communication of data
  • Involve the extended educational community and families in an intergenerational dialogue on the value of birth rates and generativity.

ACTIVITIES

  • In-depth sessions and discussions on demographic data and future scenarios, with ISTAT experts
  • Workshops on the topics of birth rate, future scenarios and social policies, led by experts from the Foundation for Birth Rate
  • Wellness and health education workshops, with a focus on reproductive health and fertility with Sigo experts
  • Creative workshops to support the autonomous and semi-autonomous work of schools to design and develop the social campaign in response to the launch of the creative contest ‘New Narratives’, with FMD experts and facilitators
  • Creative challenge for effective data visualisation and communication with FMD experts and company professionals.

SOCIAL CAMPAIGN

We accompany students on a training course that makes them the protagonists in the creation of an innovative campaign in response to the ‘Voglia di Futuro’ (Desire for the Future) contest, up to the presentation of the best works to the Stati Generali della Natalità (National Council for the Birth Rate) (November 2025).

STAGES OF THE COURSE

  • Training session with a social communication expert to frame the campaign message
  • Listening and brainstorming sessions: guided discussion on the values, key messages and targets of the campaign
  • Stimulation of creativity with practical exercises and role playing, sharing of tools to structure ideas
  • Semi-autonomous work by schools, with the support of tutors and digital facilitators, to develop original concepts and prototype content (posts, slogans, etc.)
  • Sharing and feedback in collaborative sessions to review ideas based on suggestions received
  • Delivery of final projects by schools and evaluation by the jury.
