The first Roman Leis at the Città Educativa, Lego Education Innovation Studio
The first Roman Leis, Lego Education Innovation Studio, was launched by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale on the occasion of the 2013 RomeCup.
Teachers are trained using the Train the Trainers model, to spread innovation throughout the city, region and country.
Four different proposals have been organised for schools, according to the age of the aspiring designers:
- Ape Robot for 1st and 2nd year primary school classes
Bee-bot (bee robot) is a robot toy designed for nursery school and the first years of primary school. It allows children to approach the world of robotics through play and learn the basics of programming languages, helping them to visualise paths in space, develop logic, count and move in space. - WeDo Lab for years 3, 4 and 5 of Primary School
The WeDo construction set allows the creation and programming of simple Lego models connected to a computer, and allows students to have hands-on learning experiences, find alternative creative solutions and work in groups. - NXT for lower Secondary School
This consists of state-of-the-art construction and technology with a programmable intelligent brick and intuitive, easy-to-use programming software that stimulates creativity. - Renewable energy for secondary schools
With the Lego Education renewable energy kit, classes discover the potential of robotics applied to new forms of energy.
