The Istituto comprensivo Rita Levi Montalcini in Rome participated in the 2017 edition of the Global Junior Challenge with Project "A School for Growing Together," based on the use of flipped technology. "The use of tablets allows us to face issues related to understanding, but also the construction of meaning, in a different manner.”

 

The description of the project, which involved children in the first year of primary school, ended with a medium-term objective: “For next year, we would like the children to create a video on the International Holocaust Remembrance Day and Liberation Day. After completing their readings, the children will transform the story into images that will be animated to create a video. The video will be used to have the children explain to their peers both the story of these occurrences and how they produced the video. So, they will become their own editors, publishing and sharing the material they have produced, based on Célestin Freinet’s old, but always fascinating idea of a class-lab.”

 

Today, January 27, is the International Holocaust Remembrance Day. We visited the school website and found a banner announcing an event that will involve the entire school. The project continues ...
