The Five Winners

The jury has just declared the winners of the second edition of Project Meet No Neet and assigned a special award to the best presentation (Isis Fermi-Mattei di Isernia). The company jury included Manuela Lavezzari (Marketing Manager Asus), Valerio Di Bussolo (Corporate PR Manager, IKEA Italia Retail Srl), Gemma Fiorentino (Marketing & Communication Lead, Avanade Italy), Davide Minelli (Social Director, Techno impresa sociale Srl), Alessandro De Grandi (CEO & Development Executive, Garoo) and Sara Cassina (PR Executive, Garoo).

The five winning projects:

The Voice of the Park – IIS Via Silvestri 301 - Rome
What happens if you end up being locked in a public park after sunset? This is what happened to Roberto at Villa Pamphilli, so he decided to involve his classmates and design a “speaking park” capable of announcing – via smartphone – the main information for visitors through an audio system powered by solar panels.

MILVA – IPSIA Pacinotti - Pontedera (PI)
“MILVA” is an acronym that brings together four key points (in Italian): Trades, Education, Work and Added Values. This is a double-track social innovation project, as the students define it. It’s objective is to promote the matching of work demand and supply via a web platform that can evaluate and manage candidates’ skills. The project has allowed the association to provide work to school alumni.

Smart Class – IIS Marconi - Catania
It’s the classroom of the future that we’d all love to have. It respects the environment, is energetically independent and technologically innovative. Here are a few examples: every desk includes records student presence; the dynamic pavement produces 8 watts of energy for every step to reduce the costs of electricity; the roof is covered by photovoltaic panels; the walls are equipped with polychromatic illumination and ventilation systems that are activated after gym class; an musical system eases concentration. And who cleans the classroom? A robot!

Talents App – LSS Marconi - Pesaro
A virtual and real community of talents provides a common space for students and other youth (i.e., Neets, disabled, etc.) for sharing and developing knowledge and talents through a series of labs on music, theatre and artistic recycling. The activities are managed via software and mobile applications.

Helpedgal – ISIS Fermi-Mattei - Isernia
Students at different schools join together for a special product. The electronics students at Istituto Tecnico and the Economics students acquire “non-traditional” competences and enjoy their creativity. That’s how “Helpedgal” was developed. It’s an intelligent system for crossing roads that is controlled by a micro-controller that warns vehicles that the road is being crossed and illuminates the crossing. The device also provides help for sight-impaired individuals via vocal messages and sounds.
