In line with the recommendation of the European Union to go local, the new Italian digital champion, Riccardo Luna, has decided to nominate a digital champion for each Italian municipality to create a network of 8000 digital activists, volunteers and enthusiasts entrusted with promoting digital issues throughout the country. Matteo, who is one of them, was nominated last November at Hadrian’s temple in Rome.

Matteo wrote a web surfing manual dedicated to over-sixties entitled “The Web Plot” for Grandparents on the Internet in the Province of Palermo in the municipalities of Castelbuono and Isnello.

I like to think of computers as a window on the world. Wherever, there is a PC on a desk, it’s as if that room had an extra window, a special window. It’s a window that when thrown open catapults you into a world you could not even have imagined exists.
