The XQ Quotient at School

The XQ Quotient at School

The XQ Quotient at School

In order to describe how the educational community is reacting to the sudden changes caused by the health emergency, Giovanna Cipolla [@FmdGiovanna] found a fitting quotation by Linguist Tullio De Mauro: “[…] It’s good to evaluate schools based on their development of IQs, the intelligence quotient of learners, and it’s good to keep in mind the EQ, the emotional quotient, but we also need to mind the XQ, where x stands for the ability to adapt successfully to unexpected changes […].”

The new post on the Percorsiconibambini.it Blog addresses the meaning of the XQ Quotient for the schools participating in Project OpenSpace, an on-line space managed by the project partnership. Today, we listen to the points of view of two educators, Elena Cerbara and Francesco Passantino.

Today, Tullio De Mauro (Torre Annunziata 1932 - Roma 2017) would have turned 89. There is no better way of remembering him than through his own words. They help us to shed light on the effort that this new generation is conducting and the silent and extraordinary work of the education community, thanks to the precious XQ factor.
