She doesn’t live in the capital, but in the Province of Rome, in a small town, perhaps an abandoned one. This is how Elena, thirteen years old, imagines her female rights heroine, developed by her fantasy with a high-sounding name, Octavia. We do not know, however, if Elena was inspired by the daughter of Emperor Claudius, the first wife of Nero, or the sister of Emperor Augustus and wife of Marc Anthony.
Young Octavia keeps away from power plays, she lives on the outskirts of the empire, but is always ready to fight to defend and improve the conditions of women. She will not live in the shadows. She is courageous, committed, determined and has a strong will power.
Octavia’s transformation from Elena’s coloured pencil drawing into a 3D character in the Phyrtual Innovation Gym’s Immersive Lab.
But let’s listen to Elena who just ended her second year at the Istituto comprensivo Federico Fellini.
Thanks to Octavia, Elena won the Immersive Storytelling Contest organised by the Phyrtual Innovation Gym for the RealD Educational Campaign, promoted in schools by RealD with the Fondazione Mondo Digitale.
Students were asked to design their own 3D character by drawing a portrai, describing his or her characteristics and story [see news Knowledge and Creativity].
