Free lessons continue to be held as part of the School of Internet for Everyone, the largest on-line training effort dedicated to those who wish to learn more about the use of digital devices in everyday life. This week, 20 new courses will involve over 400 citizens. Moreover, work also continues with the network of local coordinators, to develop a community and brings community holders together to work towards the common good. Together, we can drive human capital.

"Italy suffers from a deficit of digital skills. It is last in Europe both in terms of people with basic and advanced skills. Digital transformation requires an upskilling of the entire population and courses and lifelong learning opportunities will be necessary to prepare individuals for the great changes related to technological innovation. Based on these premises, as the Basilicata Region Equal Opportunities Commission, we decided to promote TIM’s ‘School of Internet for Everyone’ in collaboration with the Fondazione Mondo Digitale.”

This is how the Commission’s President, Margherita Perretti, explains their participation in the project for functional and digital literacy. “Women suffer especially from the lack of digital education and they risk remaining on the margins of the job market in an economic and productive reality that is deeply rooted in advanced digital processes.

As a regional institution, we believe that it is our duty to promote and facilitate learning processes that aim to reduce differences, in our case gender, age and local differences. We hope that the women in Basilicata will make the most of this educational opportunity.”

Public and private organisations that wish to reserve courses for their users should send an e-mail to ord@mondodigitale.org or contact their regional coordinators. In the coming days, we will present our coordinators and explain how they can help really reach out to all with the the "School of Internet for Everyone.” In the meantime, we have created a Facebook Group ...

The project is promoted by TIM in collaboration with the Fondazione Mondo Digitale as part of the Operation Digital Risorgimento Programme.
