Women and Technology

In the world of ICT, women are still underrepresented in the most innovative roles and lag behind in terms of career and growth opportunities. The fact that women are a minority is proven by the numbers. In fact, women represent about 25% of big data engineers and digital information offices and 15-25% of Internet of Things, cybersecurity and data protection experts. Few women graduate with degrees in STEM subjects and 46% of those who do still believe they do not have the qualities required for a technical-scientific career. In this scenario, the event organized by CDTI Rome aims to focus on these strategic issues for our country’s progress and economic development from three points of view: education and competences, access and employment, careers.

Mirta Michilli, Director General of the Fondazione Mondo Digitale, has been invited once again to the annual meeting of the Club of Information Technology Directors (CDTI) to address the issue of the Role of Women in the Era of Digital Transformation. The annual assembly and Christmas dinner event will be held tomorrow in Rome (6-11 pm).
