Smile, Giampiero talks about his training experience on the Digital Marketer Essentials course
Gianpiero was born in Rome in 1989. He worked for many years as a croupier, then specialised in the IT sector, learning to program in Java and C#. Recently, to broaden his horizons and career prospects, he decided to enrol in one of the courses of the Smile project, Digital Marketer Essentials.
A complete learning experience
‘I really enjoyed it. I still have the last lesson to go, but I must say that all the meetings were very useful. Both the ones on Life Skills and the ones on artificial intelligence and digital marketing were interesting and educational. Thanks to the course, I discovered how to create a buyer persona, I understood how to set up a sponsored post on Meta and, finally, I learned how to integrate generative AI tools into my work routine’.
Gianpiero is confident that the course will have an immediate impact on his professional career. ‘For some time now I have been supporting a sports association with social media communication and enriching my skills with a training experience in Digital Marketing has been fundamental’.
The importance of soft skills
Alongside technical skills, the Life Skills meetings played a key role for Gianpiero. ‘They allowed me to improve my CV and LinkedIn profile. I also feel that I have acquired transferable skills that will be useful to me in the future, in any work context’.
Two worlds, double opportunities
In Italy, a study by Unioncamere, states that the need for people with an e-skill mix, i.e. possessing at least two of the three e-skills mapped in the Excelsior Information System (basic digital skills, ability to use mathematical and computer languages and methods, ability to manage innovative solutions), will be around 920 thousand professionals in the five-year period 2024-2028.
Intuitively, Gianpiero has created a window for himself on two worlds, IT and Digital, doubling his job opportunities. Just recently, with the trainers from the Fondazione Mondo Digitale, he was able to simulate a job interview and present himself to the best of his ability at an event where, thanks to his transferable skills, he was considered for two different roles: one in IT and one in communications.
What can we say? Good luck, Gianpiero!
