Will this be the last week of the school year in distance learning? Who knows … All schools, including high schools should reopen regularly on April 26, except for regions categorised as “red zones.” The information is confirmed from a variety of sources. One thing is certain, “schools are a priority” for Prime Minister Draghi and Education Minister Bianchi. We hope that the reopening of schools will take place efficiently, so as to not nullify the sacrifices made to date.
In the meantime, we are ready to begin a new week of activities in blended mode, depending on the local contexts. This week, virtual labs will be organised by the following projects: Ambizione Italia for Youth, Coding Girls, Coding Girls in Turin, Factor J, OpenSPACE, Fully Enjoy the Internet.
Some labs will be held in presence for OpenSPACE in Phyrtual Innovation Gyms in participating schools.
Service projects involving all citizens to improve digital, functional and soft skills include Ambizione Italia for Youth (COL users), Starting Back Up Together, Job Digital Lab and School of Internet for Everyone.
Once again, FMD will be collaborating with #STEMintheCity, the initiative promoted by the City of Milan, hosting a series of labs for schools.
This week’s events include:
- Role Modelling for the Intergenerational Coding Girls Campaign (4th appointment): "My Future? It’s Up to Me!" The protagonist of this session is Annamaria Bottero. Mirta Michilli will introduce and moderate the event with the help of two students.
- Public on-line meeting: "Intergenerational Dialogue to Contrast Fake News," promoted by the Consorzio Comunità Brianza as part of European Project Digitol. The appointment is on Tuesday, April 20, 6-7 pm. Cecilia Stajano, School Innovation Coordinator and Community Manager at FMD, will participate.
Two global events recur this week. On April 21, World Creativity and Innovation Day. Mirta Michilli, FMD Director General, will participate in the meeting on Creativity and Innovation as Tools for Female Empowerment for the Developmetn of the South, which will be streamed live on the Facebook page of the Sicilian Delegation, Fondazione Marisa Bellisario.
Then, on April 22, we celebrate Earth Day, the largest global environmental initiative. The FMD will be planting trees with Treedom to help reach 10 of the 17 sustainable development goals identified by the United Nations to contribute to global development, promote human wellbeing and protect the environment.
