She is Kurdish and has been living in Italy for two years. She fled from a war in Turkey when her house was burnt down along with the rest of the village. Now, she is a guest at the Centro Enea in Rome. Her only family is a brother who also lives in Rome at the Kurdish Culture House.
In Turkey, she was unable to study. She had a variety of jobs ranging from school cleaner to factory worker. During her journey to Italy, she also experienced a period in jail.
For the last four months, she has been working as an assistant to a 75-year-old disabled lady. At the Centro Enea, she attends Italian language courses and makes necklaces and bracelets with her friends, excelling at both.

In September, she will begin attending the Internet Room at the Centro Enea, where the Fondazione Mondo Digitale organizes free digital literacy courses. She will learn how to use a PC and then teach her elderly employer to use it, to step out of the house and remain in contact with the world.
