Voucher Campaign

Over 1000 vouchers are available to certify the skills of Italian students from 28 schools in 10 regions. The campaign, which is promoted by Microsoft and Telecentre Europe, in collaboration with the Fondazione Mondo Digitale, aims to refine and certify the skills of graduating students and ease their access into the working world.

Microsoft will donate 10,000 vouchers to as many European youths to increase the value of their education, an operation with a total market value of over 300.000 euro. Ten percent of these vouchers (1000) have been reserved for the Fondazione Mondo Digitale, Telecentre-Europe partner in Italy to help as many young Italians obtain the necessary ICT competences, grasp the opportunities provided by digital jobs and find employment.

This collaboration is an integral part of the YouthSpark initiative and is the result of the long partnership between Microsoft and Telecentre-Europe to promote youth employment and address the lack of technological skills on the job market. Certifications will be distributed via the Microsoft IT Academy Programme that, over the course of the last year, assigned 1.4 million certifications to students around the world.

The training webinar organized by Tesi Automazione, a company specializing in ICT training certification, for the 45 teachers has kicked off. The teachers will become ATC Administrators and receive certifications so that, in turn, they can help their students and allow their schools to become an Academy Centre.

“We are happy to provide schools with this programme and help students obtain life skills and enjoy an important opportunity for their working future,” explains Mirta Michilli, Director General of the Fondazione Mondo Digitale.

“Telecentre Europe has always been committed to helping youth to make the most of professional opportunities in the ICT field. The voucher campaign builds on the Grand Coalition for Digital Jobs Initiative by the European Commission that has been implemented in 10 countries with the support of Telecentre Europe and Microsoft. Moreover, this is one of the first activities to be implemented in Italy,” points out Gabriel Rissola from Telecentre Europe.

Students can receive two types of certifications: the international MOS (Microsoft Office Specialist) Certification that counts both as university and public call credit and the MTC (Microsoft Technology Associate) Certification on job-oriented IT skills.
