Last week, IIS Leonardo Da Vinci in Rome, represented by Head Mistress Irene De Angelis Curtis, two professors and five students from Class 4B, participated together with 35 other Italian schools in Project “Europe Begins in Lampedusa” in the final event of the project.
As part of the project, the students from IIS Da Vinci, coordinated by Professor Maria Sofia Sessa, described the experience of Project Co-Host, financed by Microsoft Philanthrophies and promoted by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale and Microsoft, in a video entitled "A True Story: Our Story.”
Head Mistress Irene De Angelis Curtis was awarded the Special Tullio De Mauro Award at the eighth edition of the Global Junior Challenge with the following motivation:
"One adjective suffices to perfectly define the school she directs. It’s open to whomever wants to learn, to novelties and innovation, and to meeting other cultures. Tullio De Mauro always worked to develop a school that would leave no one behind. And the first step towards this goal is to open the doors. To everyone."
