The value of Microsoft Cybersecurity Certificates in Alice’s education.
Alice Perelli, 23, is currently enrolled in the second year of a master’s degree course in biomedical engineering at the Rome Campus Bio-Medico University and has just received a Microsoft SC-900 certification on cybersecurity, thanks to the collaboration between the university and the Fondazione Mondo Digitale as part of Project Ambizione Italia for Cybersecurity [see news: Certifying Skills]. “Cybersecurity was one of the last courses I took and, having appreciated the subject, I decided to seize the opportunity by studying for the Microsoft certification,” explains Alice, who enjoyed the easily accessible teaching material and the numerous available test exams. “Having further knowledge is always an advantage, in any field. Even more so in this case where you acquire digital knowledge for an important environment like Microsoft.” Alice is now busy with her degree thesis. “The course I am following at university is that of e-health, so the acquisition of greater digital skills certainly represents an added value to present to potential future employers.
Once she is finished with her thesis and university programme, Alice intends to pursue other certifications, even more targeted to her future work environment. “To date, the topics that interest me most fall within the SC200 certification,” adds Alice.
