The first of a series of meetings with the Postal Police for the Città Educativa Project Parents on the Internet was held on September 20, 2013 at the school (plesso Cecilio Secondo). The interviews with the protagonists are now on-line.
Mirta Michilli presented the project as “an initial test to extend the intergenerational exchange model to families, too.”
Paola Turi, National Educational Projects Coordinator for the Postal Police described their prevention activities that take place through meetings and materials aimed at students, parents and teachers. “It’s interesting to see parents participate in the children’s educational process. The children are digital natives, but they still need their parent’s support. Writing on the web leaves an indelible mark and its irresponsible use can lead to great risks,” explains Ms. Turi.
Prof. Rossella Totera described the day as profitable and constructive: “Two educational agencies meet to safeguard students” thanks to Project “Parents on the Internet” and its activities.
Sandra, one of the many present moms, said: “I will talk to my son and explain to him the risks that he runs, but also the advantages of this new technology.”
