Cinema, cartoons, writing, photography, poetry and illustration are the classic labs held at the Week of Creativity organised by Association 50&Più. This year, the range of labs were enriched by #Socializziamo, a digital lab held by Elisa Chierchiello, a young coach at the Fondazione Mondo Digitale.

The #socializziamo labs dedicated to digital literacy were received with great enthusiasm at the 50&Più Olympics. “I followed the lab at the Olympics and was able to learn about using a smartphone and computer. It was very interesting”, explains one of the participants. “I had issues before the course and learned that I was using these devices in a very limited fashion.” [see article: #Socializziamo a Baveno: il corso di alfabetizzazione digitale di 50&Più (in Italian)]

In the video, Elisa, 22, tells us about her experience at the Week of Creativity (Baveno, Lago Maggiore, Oct. 16-21, 2021). She discovered that even younger elders have issues with new technology, and they are often readers rather than contributors on social networks and chats. So, thanks to her help, even an elderly lady was able to send her first WhatsApp message.

Elisa Chierchiello

“Sometimes it is the people no one can imagine anything of who do the things no one can imagine.” (Alan Turing)

Elisa Chierchiello studied at a classical lyceum and then decided to undertake a completely different direction. She now is a computer science student at the University of Turin. She loves technology which had formerly always appeared as an insurmountable enemy. She is here to demonstrate that everything is possible if you really desire it. Elisa is proud of the future she is forging and sees the Fondazione Mondo Digitale as an opportunity through which to transmit her message.
