Ital.IA Lab for School: teachers design smart study tutors
How can artificial intelligence be turned into a practical ally for learning? This is the question at the heart of the new webinar organised as part of the Ital.IA Lab for School programme, developed in partnership with Microsoft.
The session, entitled Teaching AI to teach: designing smart tutors to support learning, is scheduled for 22 April, from 5pm to 6pm, and is aimed at teachers of all levels interested in integrating AI into teaching in a conscious and practical way.
At the heart of the webinar is a shift in perspective: not passively using artificial intelligence tools, but designing and managing them. Participants will explore how to build intelligent tutors capable of guiding students in their studies, fostering autonomy, method and the ability to reflect.
Leading the session is Gaetano Manzulli, a trainer with extensive experience in secondary education and teacher training. During the session, he will demonstrate how the latest agent-based systems developed by Microsoft, Google and platforms such as SchoolAI can be used as educational assistants, capable of supporting understanding, guiding study and adapting to students’ needs.
The approach remains clearly teacher-centred: intelligent tutors do not replace the teacher, but amplify their role, making more personalised, inclusive and sustainable teaching possible.
The initiative forms part of the Foundation’s broader commitment to supporting the educational community in the critical and creative use of emerging technologies, through concrete experiences that can be immediately applied in daily practice.
