The RomeCup 2020 and Talent Tour, promoted with Invitalia, after Palermo and Pisa are scheduled in Turin. However, due to the Coronavirus emergency, the hackathon will be held on April 1 instead of March 10.  The application deadline is extended to March 26. All submitted ideas remain valid and may also be modified.

 

we would like to remind you that the topic of the 2020 challenge is "AI & Robotics for Climate Change."

 

The first three teams of the hackathon in Turin, hosted by  I3P, will enjoy a follow up service for their presented idea. Moreover, the first-placed team will receive a 500 euro award provided by Invitalia and direct access to the challenge that will be held on April 21-24 as part of RomeCup 2020.

 

Applications are open both for individuals and teams (maximum three people). The hackathon is also open to companies of any kind [see regulations].

 

Project Profile

As part of the RomeCup 2020 multievent (April 21-24), the Fondazione Mondo Digitale and Invitalia have launched the “Talent Tour with Invitalia,” a four-part challenge in collaboration with the main Italian universities.

 

The objective of the "AI & Robotics for Climate Change" challenge is to incentivise young talent and propose robotic solutions and business ideas that can drive the prevention and management of climactic changes.

  • Stimulate networking
  • Promote the entrepreneurial spirit of young men and women
  • Incentivise studies of technical and scientific subjects

 

Targets

Individuals, teams (maximum three people) and companies of any kind may participate. participation is open to start-uppers, researchers, robotics experts and university students.  FMD may pair teams with a high school student who has advanced knowledge of robotics.

 

The Challenge

Exploiting the potential of artificial intelligence and robotics to contrast climactic change through the development of innovative ideas that aim to reduce the environmental impact of actions and increase the responsibility of the citizen consumers as per the principles of eco sustainability and inclusion. Teams must propose a prototype idea along with the business model that can be introduced to the market.

 

Activities

the program includes three regional hackathons in Palermo, Pisa and Turin. then the winners will meet in Rome for the final challenge at RomeCup 2020.

 

The hackathons are organised in collaboration with the main universities and enterprise incubators in the hosting cities:

 

  • Palermo - University of Palermo and Consorzio Arca
  • Pisa - University of Pisa
  • Turin - Turin Polytechnic and I3P
  • Rome - Sapienza University of Rome

 

Awards

the winning teams will receive a monetary award and the opportunity to be supervised by Invitalia through a follow up course for their business idea.
