Sustainable Suburbs

Discovering new materials, tools and alternative and innovative creative processes to create a greener future.

From organic textiles and bioplastics to the development of cloths with a low environmental impact, sensors for vegetable gardens to digital manufacturing projects for urban furnishings to improve neighbourhoods.

These are just a few of the challenges faced by the project at IC Via Poppea Sabina in Casal Monastero, where one of the seven Innovation Gyms being developed by Project Smart & Heart Rome, promoted with the support of the Department for Digital Transformation of the City of Rome.

In the Satellite Innovation Gym developed at the Liceo artistico Enzo Rossi, an original course, developed in collaboration with the Masters in Fashion Studies at Sapienza University of Rome, allows students to fully explore the issue of sustainable fashion. Coaches and university researchers will teach the students to use new technology for the development of ethical and intelligent items of clothing and accessories, as well as to develop new skills for these professional sectors that are rapidly expanding.
