State Exams Begin

Over 500,000 students will start the State Exams today. Over 25,000 classes are involved in the exams and the students will be evaluated by 12,675 commissions.

The first written test is Italian, which will be held today. Starting at 8:30 am, students will have six hours to complete it. The second test will be held tomorrow at the same time, while the third test, custom-tailored by each commission, will be held on Monday, June 26.

Students in schools participating in Project Esabac or studying Spanish, German or Chinese will also have to take a fourth test on Tuesday, June 27.

Once again, the commission will be able to include school-work programmes, stages and apprenticeships in developing the third test, as well as the non-linguistic disciplines taught with the Clil Methodology. Oral exams may begin with school-work programmes or traineeships.

In the video produced by MIUR, Francesco Branca, Coordinator of the State Exam Technical Structure, announces that choice of the subjects for the first and second test with Minister Fedeli. The selection was based on hundreds of proposals submitted by a group of experts that collaborate with the state exam board.

"The Minister chose subjects that are interesting and coherent with the school programme that you have completed,” Branca announced, adding his best wishes to all the students who will sit the state exams.
