STMicroelectronics undersigned the network agreement promoted by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale to develop a long-term national strategy for educational robotics.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed at the Campidoglio on March 16 by 36 organisations during the final day of RomeCup 2011, the International City of Rome Robotics Trophy.
The agreement was materially signed by Luisa Fracassini, Continental Italy Sites Total Quality & Corporate Social Responsibility Manager STMicroelectronics, who participated in the intense day of activities at the Campidoglio.
Ms. Fracassini, in fact, participated in the roundtable in the first group dedicated to “Institutions and Governance for the Development and Diffusion of Robotics in School”.
Then, after undersigning the agreement and posing for photos, she presented the awards to the winners.
The nine monetary awards for the winning team in each category were entirely provided by ST, a total value of €10.000 (€1000 for school teams and €2000 for university teams).
“Mondo Digitale proposed this protocol and we agreed with great enthusiasm,” points out STMicroelectronics Pietro Palella to Radio24. “We already have some activities underway with schools and this new initiative will allow us to organize the approach to robotics in school.”
