A Social Career

[...] How can you transform a hobby into a real job? «You can learn, » explains Mirta Michilli, Director General of the Rome Fondazione Mondo Digitale. «We hold training courses for ages 0 to 100, on-line too. I graduated in Computer Science when it was a male world. Now, I would like to raise the awareness of women on technology, because it provides well-paid, flexible and creative jobs. Our organization orients young men and women towards the future, which will be influence by digital change. We are collaborating with Facebook to hold Project #Shemeansbusiness in Italy. The project, which was conceived in London to promote women in enterprise, has allowed us to train nearly 6000 women throughout Italy and introduce 3700 of them to the use of social media to develop their businesses.

 

The current issue of weekly magazine Grazia dedicates a report to social careers as part of the tenth anniversary of Facebook in Italy. Journalist Alessia Ercolini includes stories and interviews, including one with Mirta Michilli, Director General of the Fondazione Mondo Digitale.
